The Pros

There are 3 primary benefits. However, they are very important, especially when you consider the New York market and how it operates. Your listing fees are going to be drastically lowered. You still have a list of requirements you need to meet, but they are few and far between, In the last three years, your business has to have earned at least $11 million to be considered. Your shares need to be at least 1.25. You need to earn more than $70 million from those shares.

Back in 2014, the rules changed to what they are now. Compared to the New York Market, this is a big deal. The New York has listing requirements that exceed $100 million per listing.

What do you pay per listing? You pay about $38,000. The New York exchange charges you close to $47,000 per listing. The Initial Public Offering (Initial Public Offer) is $250,000. The NA SDAQ has an Initial Public Offering listing At $125,000. The NA SDAQ cuts it in half. You are getting a great bargain considering everything the NA SDAQ offers you.

The Cons

The one main downside is that the New York market carries a more prestigious following. It is over 200 years old. More people trust it. Some companies who began with NA SDAQ jumped ship and went to the New York exchange. An example of that is Nortel and E-Trade.

Both markets have partnered with other companies to increase their branding. The other downside is that more people are partnering with the New York exchange, including some of the foreign currencies. They trust NY SE and go to them. The trend is not likely to slow anytime soon.
